Never before in my life have I wanted to be blonde. But this…
Amazing.
Fresh.
Covet-worthy.

Also: She looks a bit like Kaley Cuoco (whom I also love) here.
And: Her husband is a bit like Johnny Depp on acid. Translation=I love him.
Christmas is coming kids. And not that I want to be accused of disrespecting Thanksgiving, but I’m already working on my wish list. One thing I’m hoping for is a new tote that I could use for transporting all my work files and my laptop when necessary. My current bag has a small rip that I can no longer ignore and was never really my style.
Here are the results of my quick little Internet search.
If I was purchasing this for myself, and had the money to be indulgent, this first bag would definitely be my choice. It’s real leather in a gorgeous color and a great size (12.5” x 14.75” x 5.5”). Although $200 is outside my immediate budget, it’s definitely a fair price for such an investment bag.
J. Crew Newstand Tote in Brownstone, $198
This second bag is just over the top. Giant (16” x 17.5” x 8” ) and gorgeous, it looks like something I would take a nap on. But there is no salary that would justify dropping $450 on a work bag for me.
Anthropologie Rancher Tote in Brown, $448
This next bag looks tiny, but it’s actually comparable in size to the J. Crew bag (13” x 15” x 5”). I do love it’s school boy blazer aesthetic, but I don’t know if I’d carry it in the warmer months. Tweed just seems fussy and itchy in 85 degree weather.

Vatican Library Textured Satchel via Ruche, $73.99
And finally, at half off it’s original price, this bright and beautiful bag may be my best option. It’s sized appropriately (19” x 13” x 5”) and has a great, classic shape. But compared to the perfection that is that J. Crew bag, it just seems like settling.

a.n.a. Madeline Tote in Estate Green or Columbus Red via JCPenney, $39.99
Looks like I might be removing the work tote from my wish list and saving my own coins. Afterall, at 25, it’s about time I start investing in quality pieces that will last at least until my next birthday.
Alright, it’s officially slipper season. Whenever a t-shirt, a hoodie, jeans or sweats, and socks still leave me chilly in the middle of the day, it’s time to get serious.
I will be heading over to Old Navy very soon to pick up my annual three pairs. Why three pairs, you ask? One for here at the house, one to keep at my parents’ house, and one to keep at the in-laws’ house. I told you that I take this very seriously.

This is what I’m thinking this year. Aren’t they cute!
Last year, I bought this exact hoodie/jacket in cream and I LOVE it. Except, it’s cream. And I’m messy. And thus, it’s covered in tiny stains that I feel are soooo noticeable. So, I’m dying to replace it, but this time in gray.

Except…
Target is being a jerk and not selling it in stores. And I’m not much for ordering things online. My money-conscious tends to get the best of me at some point during the twelve step check out process. In stores, I can just grab, go, and deal with the guilt later.
Stupid conscious…
Umm… so I didn’t get the special home improvement project post up for today like I’d planned. But I promise it’ll be up tomorrow.
Today Tonight, however, I bring you something I should have blogged about weeks ago. I want a sofa like this so damn bad.

It’s made from old panel doors and I’m obsessed.
I think I’d want mine made to fit outdoor cushions though. I doubt it would be comfortable enough for long periods of sitting, but would be perfect for on our second story back deck.

I’m just saying… if you’re feeling handy, ecochic, and generous.
I have a confession to make. I’m a bit of an art snob in training, by relation. (Read: This character flaw is not my fault.) “Jacob started it.” Seriously. He did. Here’s the thing. When your brother was a studio art and art history major in college, and he gifts you awesome things like these, you just can’t go picking up something like this… … from the Bed, Bath, & Beyond, and slap it on your wall with a “Well ain’t that just pretty as Okay, so you could. But you’d never hear the end of it. And considering he deals with my grammar snob tendencies, I concede to making thoughtful and original art choices. (I know, my life is soooo rough.) My main criteria is as follows: Anything I like which also happens to be vintage or original, plus family photos and anything he gives me. As often as I can manage, I also try to please the hubbin. (Pretty manageable, although I still tend to get anxious and am still a bit of a commitment-phobe with most art.) However, I am proud to say that I do have a particular genre I’ve fallen for that also happens to qualify as blog-worthy cool: vintage travel posters. Feast your eyes on the following Etsy finds. My love affair started five years ago when I picked up this perfect print in Chicago, one of my favorite cities of all time. Although it’s technically neither vintage nor original, I’m in love. She’s a reprint and thus fit into my then-college budget. And considering Jake was with me on that trip, I’m assuming he approves. She’s definitely top-five for souvenirs. And just because, here’s the cozy little corner she calls home. P.S. I very seriously considered retaking this photo because of the mess going on with that curtain.
pink flamingo picture.”

Damn.
And less than $60.
Need I say more?

I saw this gorgeous cream sweater on J.Crew’s Factory Outlet site and instantly wanted to fast forward to fall. Because I can’t do that, I decided to mock up how a sweater like that should be worn. I love the booties, but would most likely opt for flats in my everyday life, so I had to include both.
Can’t believe Labor Weekend, the official start to fall, is only two weeks away. This summer flew by. For me, the cooler weather and turning leaves always makes my heart ache for one thing: home. What does it make you long for?

I may end up building my guest room around this duvet cover from Urban Outfitters. It’s too pretty and one of my all time favorite color combinations. It comes in two other colors, both of which I love, but I’ve been dreaming so much of blue lately.
It might still be a little busy for what I really want. Self-restraint is sooo hard.
